Bill never married, he lived with Kate, I think living as if husband and wife. He was younger than her. He was living as a lodger at first, and her husband died. And then I think they were living as husband and wife. Lived in Oxford, maybe up Hedington way.
Kate had a chip shop in Oxford I think. I remember there being a broken clock on the wall with a sign that said "No tick here".
She stunk of fish and chips when she used to come and see us in Appleton. No matter how much she tried to wash it off, you could always smell it on her.
